PS300 vs PS500: How to Judge Application Boundaries
Understand the two product lines through measurement architecture, supply disturbance, equipment interfaces and process cadence.
PS300 and PS500 are often compared, but their application boundaries do not overlap. The deciding factors are whether the downstream need is ordinary pressure regulation or extreme pressure stability with ultra-low leak rate, plus expectations for proof pressure, cleanliness, and response speed.
PS300 targets conventional process gas lines — moderate pressure ranges and applications sensitive to cost and integration convenience. It delivers stable pressure control under standard cleanliness and sealing requirements, making it the common general-purpose pressure controller for most tools.
PS500 serves more demanding processes: wider pressure setpoint range, lower leak rate to hold system pressure, or stable output despite large downstream disturbances. Its flow path, seals, and materials favor high reliability and long operating cycles for critical processes or long maintenance intervals.
To judge the boundary, list the process requirements item by item: pressure setpoint range, acceptable fluctuation, media and cleanliness grade, maintenance interval, and spare-part cost. Then check both datasheets line by line rather than choosing by impression.
